"...Wait," he said, the words Edison and Tesla causing him to flinch. "You thought that having those two in the same place was a good idea? That era of history isn't my strong suit, but my God."

As Roman continued to speak though, to explain Mash's situation, Lord El-Melloi II's face hardened into something far angrier and far more disgusted with Chaldea as an operation. Mages experimented on people from time to time, and it was always something that he considered unacceptable. Ethics were rarely something that factored into the discussions of mages, but still. It was a personal line, and that Chaldea billed itself as it did, he was even angrier than he was upon initial summons.

"If I had known those types of experiments were being conducted by Chaldea's staff, I would have used everything in my power at Clock Tower to shut this place down," Lord El-Melloi II said frankly. He was not going to hide how much he hated this new piece of information even if Roman made it clear he shared the anger and discomfort with such work. "Nothing, not even a Grand Order, makes such experiments acceptable."

It was beyond the inhumanity demanded of mages. And Roman seemed to know that.

He tried not to flinch at the sudden touch to his coat sleeve. "Such a project should not be necessary if grail summons work properly. As for Zhuge Liang, I personally remain unsure why this was the route he took. For the few seconds we spoke, he proved himself to be some other variation of inhuman. As for what was entwined, I can't say I have had enough time to sit and parse it all out."
